Enougb Talk...

Making Money from Kanye West in College (Part 3)

I now had an idea that I thought would work and a partner willing to share the financial burden. The time for talk was over and I now needed to take action. After some initial research I was able to find a supplier, however I could find very little information about the company and couldn't find any reference online of someone who had a successful transaction with the company. (One of the reasons I chose the supplier I did though is because they were American, while there was cheaper merchandise available from China, it also looked cheaper and I'd also recently had a friend who had been ripped off trying to import goods). This made me slightly nervous. I had another problem though, somehow I had to predict how many glasses I expected to sell, but I had very little to gauge this against and so it required much guesswork.

The supplier was offering great discounts for large orders so I decided if I was going to do this I might as well go all out. I researched where the Kanye West gig was taking place and what its capacity was (approx. 7,000). This made me quite confident in putting in an order for 300 pairs of glasses. I was convinced that with that many fans going I would have a good opportunity to sell them all! (There was still the very real prospect that I would sell none! and I'd be stuck with 300 pairs of useless glasses and a $400 bill)

Despite being unable to find much information about my supplier the price was too good to turn down and so I purchased 300 pairs financed 50/50 by me and my partner. I ordered them over the phone using Skype as I didn't feel comfortable buying by email.

As it turned out my doubts proved to be unfounded, and the product arrived promptly, the quality and packaging were both excellent! PART 4

Always Be Closing!
